October 3rd, 2014

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Hello! This week the GRASP students participated in different activities relating to Gym. We have played kickball, pin guard, and a number of other games the students see in gym class.  The students and I always enjoy our time together after school no matter what we are doing.

Students will have the option to provide snacks again this school year. If your child(ren) would like to bring snacks, please bring snacks for 40 students. If a student provides a snack, that child will be my special helper for the day. If you know when you would like to provide snack or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Next Week’s Agenda:   Fire Safety

·         Monday- Fires- Since this week is National Fire Safety Week, the group will read books relating to fires and fire safety. Once we have completed the stories, we will engage in our creative side and color Fire Trucks and Fire Hydrants for the OST bulletin board.

·         Tuesday- Stop, Drop, and Roll- The group will add a fun twist to one of our favorite games of Pin Guard where when the whistle blows, they will have to Stop, Drop, and Roll before resuming the game.

·         Wednesday- Kickball- The students will engage in cooperative team work as we play a fun game of Kickball.

·         Thursday- Game Day- The students will engage in some of our favorite cooperative play games like Bubble Se At Ma Tack and Frog.

·         Friday- Movie- The group will relax together as we enjoy the movie Firehouse Dog. This movie is rated PG. We have checked family review sites and this movie has been rated as being a family movie and does not include explicit language.
