                                                                                                                                                                                                                     November 25th, 2014

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Hello! This week the GRASP students participated in different activities. The group has enjoyed watching Pocahontas on Monday and playing games together on Tuesday. The students and I always enjoy our time together after school no matter what we are doing.

***With the weather changing, I do have a special note from Mr. Dalchow and I regarding the GRASP program and the winter weather. Here is how the GRASP program will operate as it relates to late starts, early releases due to weather, and school cancellations:

1 or 2 hour late start to school

·         OST will still be open at 7 AM with breakfast served at 8 AM

Early release from school due to weather

·         No OST

School cancelation

·         No OST

o   Note that if school gets called off after a late start, students will need to be picked up immediately as there will be no OST after a cancellation of school.

Students will have the option to provide snacks again this school year. If your child(ren) would like to bring snacks, please bring snacks for 40 students. If a student provides a snack, that child will be my special helper for the day. If you know when you would like to provide snack or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Next Week’s Agenda:   Winter

·         Monday- Winter Games- GRASP will participate in games that help us develop our cooperative skills.

·         Tuesday- Sugar Cookies- The group will participate in the kitchen while we make sugar cookies.

·        Wednesday- Winter reading- The group will enjoy listening to read aloud books that relate to the Winter Season.

·         Thursday- Winter Games/ Red Light Green Light- The group will work on our listening skills while playing games like Red Light Green Light.

·         Friday- Movie Day- We will watch “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

We appreciate your patience during the transition of OST Coordinator. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Mr. Dalchow at Dan.Dalchow@k12.sd.us or 397-2317.

I really enjoy working with the students that attend GRASP and would personally like to invite all students to GRASP. Every day they are making memories and having fun! You can visit us at http://grotonareaost.blogspot.com/. Have a good weekend!
